Happy New Year!!! Things around my house have been so busy with the kids out of school for the Christmas break, that I've had very little time to devote to my blog, but on the flip side, I've been doing a ton of reading. And...
I found a new favorite author.
I seem to be doing this a lot lately. First with Mindy McGinnis (The Female of the Species), then with Katy Regnery (Unloved), and now with LJ Shen.
Holy Smokes. This woman. She basically tapped my favorite trope in every single book which is: The super awful human being that finds redemption. I love hating the main characters until I fall in love with them.
If you like super alpha guys and the woman that ruin them (in the best kind of way), then her books are for you. So far, I've read 3 of her books and every single one I have finished in less that 24 hours. Not because they're short. Oh no. Because I cannot put them down. And when I have to, I'm pissed.
Scandalous was the first book I read, which happens to the 4th book in the Sinners of Saint series. It was good, really good, and it made me want to read the other books in this series. I went on to read Vicious and Ruckus in that order. Vicious was my favorite because Vic was so freaking awful. Like a horrible, horrible person that you want to hate but just can't.
I loved his foul mouth and his dick-headedness. Mostly because his thoughts were totally relate-able, and while I would never do or say the types of things he did, I would certainly think them. And that made me love him, and all his awfulness.
So, if you pick up any of these books, let me know what you thought.
